Turnip and Kale Gratin

INGREDIENTS
1 bunch of kale
1 lb turnip
1 medium onion
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp butter
1.5 cups of cream
1.5 cups of grated gruyere cheese devided
1 Tbsp Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chop the kale and use all the stems. Thinly slice the turnip by hand or use a mandolin. Cut the onion in half and slice thinly.
In a sauté pan, add the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, sauté the onions until translucent. Add the kale and saute together for a few minutes. Then remove the pan from the heat.
Mix the cream with one cup of gruyere. Add salt and pepper to the mix.
Coat the bottom of an oven safe gratin dish with butter. Do a layer of turnips, then add half the kale and top with half the cheese and cream mix. Repeat the layers two more times and finish the last layer with the half cup of gruyere.
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes until golden brown on top. Rest the gratin for 5 minutes before serving.
